Hungry Campaign – £1 buys a homeless person in Preston a healthy, balanced meal at The Foxton Centre.

Since the fire we have continued to provide free hot meals under the Hungry campaign and every week we provide 40 free hot meals to people who have had no source of income and who have had no means of cooking a meal if a food parcel was provided.

The Foxton Centre has teamed up with local cafés Ravenous and Cafe Fresch, to initiate an exciting new campaign to help Preston’s homeless and rough sleepers. Howdan Marketing and Inspire  Business Training Ltd have also gotten involved, with Howdan Marketing donating meals on a monthly basis, and Inspire Business Training offering meals per sale.

We sell healthy balanced meals at our Community Café four days a week for £1, offering a limited number of vouchers for free meals. Now, customers at Ravenous can choose to donate an extra pound, or more, with their meal to purchase more vouchers for rough sleepers. This allows us to offer more vouchers to rough sleepers and people who have been identified as not being able to pay for their meal – the vouchers will continue to be offered at the discretion of the Community Café and Assertive Outreach teams.

We are now looking for other cafés, restaurants or interested businesses who want to get involved in this campaign. All we ask for is to hang an A4 or A3 poster and place a small charity collection tin on a counter or worktop area – we do all of the promotion & do not ask for you to “sell” the idea to your customers. In return you receive promotion on our website, social media and in any relevant press releases.

If you are interested in getting your business involved with this campaign, or for further information please contact:
info@thefoxtoncentre.co.uk, 01772 555925.

Alternatively, all food donations are packed in food parcels for those who need it the most.

We welcome all non-perishable food donations.
