Life after the fire

25th June 2014, posted in

As many of you know, we had a fire at The Foxton Centre early in March which did extensive damage to the main hall, and indirect damage (smoke & water) to the rest of the building.

The damage forced us to find alternate locations for all of our Centre-based projects (such as the Community Café, ATR, Fox Kidz, & Fox ChiXx) and significantly reduced the services we have been able to offer.

This has brought about some ingenuity from our staff – our coffee bar became a make-shift office space for multiple projects and when no suitable indoor space was available, we took the Community Café outside!

We are happy to announce, however, that the work on the building is well-underway and we hope to have it back up and running sometime over this summer. The hall has had its first coat of paint on its walls, and it makes such a difference!

All of us at The Foxton Centre appreciate your ongoing support through this time, and we can’t wait to re-open our doors as a community space.
