Christmas 2017 update

A big thank you to those who gave generously to help our work during the Christmas period – you are too numerous to mention.

A special thanks to Homeserve whose local staff brought Mr and Mrs Santa and a whole posse of elves who all helped provide a traditional Christmas lunch that went down really well! Santa’s grotto was decorated by our staff and volunteers and many children and families were able to get both gifts and food. Xmas dinner was courtesy of Nando’s who opened their Preston restaurant where staff served an incredible 55 dinners.

On Boxing Day our staff and volunteers did a great job in serving up a hot and cold buffet for 50 people News Years Eve and New Years Day were also celebrated with food from our staff and volunteer team. Well done to all who contributed and helped out!

On a more somber note, we provided cold weather ‘Winter Watch’ overnight accommodation for 35 homeless people with additional support to signpost people towards longer term accommodation. Thanks to the efforts of staff, volunteers and donors, the Christmas period was a little less uncomfortable for many people.
