ATR is a youth group for young people aged 12 to 17 and its main aim is to offer a safe environment where young people can freely express themselves and interact with others and their peers without the fear of being judged or oppressed.
ATR have participated in a range of activities such as baking, cooking (chicken curry and pizza), pool tournament and use of the centre’s facilities and sports equipment. The group have also had careers information night where a representative came to discuss college courses and course requirements, and access to information around sexual health.
ATR have also taken part in an outward bounds activity day which was a major highlight, and all participants received an AQA for this. Some of the group created a letter to request funding to be able to organise a 5 a side football tornament and fun day.
Near future plans include Go Ape – zip line and treetop adventure course.
